Melbourne Toy, Hobby and Licensing Fair 2017

17 March 2017

That’s a wrap for Melbourne Toy, Hobby and Licensing Fair and what a whirlwind few days it was last week. After months of advance planning for the four-day show at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre, the consensus from the Hinkler team is that this was the best fair we’ve been to since first exhibiting in 2014.

The opening night Australian Toy Association Gala Event was held at Crown Palladium and had us dressing up, playing with ponies (My Little Pony, that is), and mingling with other creatives in the industry.

When we weren’t focussed on appointments with customers, potential customers, and our licensing partners, we were exploring the stalls and meeting some of our favourite characters such as B1 and B2, Ryder and the rest of the Paw Patrol pack, and the PJ Masks trio.

At this year’s fair, Hinkler was proud to announce our new partnership with Creative Kids. Inspiring young people for almost two decades with their commitment to innovation and quality-driven art, craft and toys, Creative Kids is now launching in Australia with exclusive distribution through yours truly.

Their extensive range of kits such as Wood Workshop, Science By Me, Steel Mechanix, and B Me includes everything needed to create cool projects. The positive response from customers was huge so we’re very excited to get it out into the market and have kids engaged with these fun toys.

Another section of our stand which pulled in the crowds was our wall of “coming soon” products. Kaleidoscope Mosaics, Artmaker kits, Slide Box Guitar, and two of our upcoming day of the dead products – origami and rock painting – were just some of the innovative items that instantly captured the interest of fair-goers. To give a taste of what we have on offer in 2017 and to receive immediate feedback from customers was brilliant.

It’s going to be a big year for us at Hinkler and we can’t wait to share with you what we’ve got.
