Delicious DIY Christmas Gifts

12 December 2017
It’s so easy to make personalised and unique gifts this Christmas! Lovingly decorated and embellished packaging can turn a homemade Christmas recipe into a very special gift. With a little time, a few crafting items and some inspiration, your imagination will run wild!
Here are some suggested tools to get you started:
  • Scissors (plain and decorative, such as pinking shears)
  • Lightweight cotton material in checks, stripes, polka dots or florals
  • Twine
  • Ribbon
  • Blank labels (sticky or tie-on)
  • Tissue paper (white or coloured)
  • Gift boxes (available from craft and paper stores)
  • Cardstock paper
  • Decorative jars

Here are some decorated jars, bottles and giftboxes to help inspire you. With so many different festive styles and motifs, the possibilities are endless!

Even a novice crafter will love how easy it is to personalise their recipes to make a charming gift. This Christmas, why not treat your friends and family to simply but beautifully presented handmade Chocolate Truffles? For a lovely personal touch, line a ready-made gift box with matching tissue paper and finish it with a handwritten label and a hand-tied ribbon.
Dry recipe mixes presented in decorated jars also make great Christmas gifts – and they require no cooking or baking on your part! Add a festive cloth lid-cover tied with twine to the jar for a quick and easy way to make your homemade gift extra special. Don’t forget to handwrite the recipe on cardstock and attach it to the twine or ribbon for a handmade feel.
Today we're sharing two dry recipe mixes – one sweet and one savoury – that you can give to your loved ones this Christmas.
