Paint, Hide, and Let the Hunt Begin

03 July 2017

A new craze which began in the United States is taking the world by storm, encouraging kids to step away from technology and go on a scavenger hunt to find creatively painted rocks in their local community. Whether you’re a rock dropper (someone who paints and hides rocks), a rock finder (someone who goes out to find painted rocks), or both, there is something in this activity for people of all ages to enjoy.

To celebrate International Drop a Rock Day 2017, with the help of some of our rock paining kits, tips and tricks from author Katie Cameron, and being inspired by the theme “peace”, the team at Hinkler (and our families) got involved and had a bit of fun painting and hiding rocks around Melbourne.

You can get involved too by joining your local rock hunting community on Facebook. If you can’t find one in your area, there is a lot of helpful information available online about how to start your own group in your area.
